Meet the Board
Ewa Maas, M.Ed.
|
Ewa grew up in Delray Beach and is an alumni of Atlantic High School where she currently teaches Special Education. She also holds a Masters in Special Education.
STARTpbc was inspired by her son (formerly foster son), now 27 years old, she and the family took him in when he was her student at 17 years old, she mentored him, completed the foster parent classes with her husband, after 10 weeks he moved into their home with their three other children, and became one of the family. Throughout his years with them, there have been several "teachable moments", in addition to helping most of his friends with issues they encountered. She is an advocate for her elementary, middle, and high school students, past and present. Over the last 20+ years she has helped many former and current students through life's roadblocks with a passion for helping and watching "children" grow at any age. STARTpbc was created through her desire to communicate her knowledge and experience to adults ages 18-26 who have been lost in the system and forgotten. |
